Eating about 2 ounces of mixed nuts daily, in place of carbs, may help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and improve blood sugar control in people with type 2 diabetes, according to a study in Diabetes Care.  Unsalted, raw or dry roasted nuts - including almonds, walnuts, pecans, pistachios, hazelnuts, cashews and macadamias - provided these benefits, say researchers.
